The UK Solar System Data Centre (UKSSDC) is a premier research facility dedicated to advancing solar system science in the UK. Jointly funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the UKSSDC serves as a central archive and data hub, ensuring comprehensive access to critical solar system datasets. Located at the STFC’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, this vital institution provides important resources for the UK solar system community, covering a broad spectrum of research areas including solar, interplanetary, magnetospheric, ionospheric, and geomagnetic science.

The UKSSDC hosts various archives, notably the World Data Centre for Solar-Terrestrial Physics and the Cluster Ground-Based Data Centre, facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing among researchers. With initiatives to keep the community informed through updates on new datasets and publications, the UKSSDC plays a crucial role in enhancing scientific understanding and driving innovation in solar system exploration.
