UKŻ TRAWERS

Uczniowski Klub Żeglarski “Trawers” is a youth sailing club based in Ostrów Wielkopolski, Poland. Its stated mission is to develop sailing among children and young people, combining sport and recreation with lessons in independence, responsibility, teamwork, decision-making and perseverance. The club reports that it has pursued this work since 2000, with support from members, friends and the wider sailing community.

Trawers provides opportunities for young sailors to train and compete, and its reported racing activities included the Optimist and Cadet classes. It also took part in the Kalisz District Sailing Association Cup, where club sailors competed in those classes alongside an Omega Standard crew made up of parents. In the 2009 season, the club placed second in the team standings for the cup. The club was a member of the Kalisz District Sailing Association and sought donations to support its statutory activities and youth sailing development. Its archived website announced in June 2010 that updates had moved to ukztrawers.pl.
