About ULTIMA Sainte Rose
ULTIMA Sainte Rose is an innovative initiative based in Sainte Rose, launched by the KÔTÉ VOLKAN association. On January 1, 2019, they hosted a unique scientific and cultural event coinciding with the New Horizons spacecraft's flyby of the distant celestial body, Ultima Thulé. The event aimed to engage the local community and space enthusiasts through live broadcasts from NASA-TV, featuring French commentary.
Participants enjoyed a rich program that included lectures on topics such as the solar system and volcanic activity, along with hands-on workshops like water rocket building, crafting terrestrial globes from cardboard, and creating New Horizons models. Additionally, literary workshops catered to writers and poets, fostering creativity and collaboration. This event was free, inviting everyone to participate while ensuring a well-organized experience through a personal invitation request.
