About CentroAmazónicoPerú
The Centro Amazónico de Antropología y Aplicación Práctica (CAAAP) is a Peruvian nonprofit civil association founded in 1974 by bishops from the country’s jungle regions. It serves vulnerable populations in the Peruvian Amazon, with particular attention to Indigenous peoples. CAAAP’s work and resources focus on the region’s communities, cultures, and challenges, including the Amazonian Church, Indigenous peoples, and key issues affecting the rainforest and its residents.
The organization provides public information and educational materials through its website, including news, interviews, opinion pieces, academic articles, documents, and infographics. Its publications include the journal Amazonía Peruana, and its CENDOC section offers additional reference resources. CAAAP also shares photographs and image galleries related to the Amazon. These materials help visitors learn about the people and issues of the Peruvian Amazon and follow developments in the region. The organization is based in Peru and welcomes inquiries by phone or email during weekday office hours.
