United Martial Arts Center (UMAC) is a family-oriented martial arts school in Port Jefferson Station, New York, serving the local community since 1995. Founded and led by Shihan Andrew Stigliano, the center offers training for children from age 2½ through adults, with programs tailored to different stages of life and experience. Classes include karate, jiu-jitsu, mixed martial arts, grappling, and practical self-defense. Specialized offerings include women’s self-defense, weapons and tactical training, bully prevention, private lessons, and karate birthday parties.

UMAC’s children’s programs combine martial arts instruction with age-appropriate development. Younger students practice listening, focus, cooperation, confidence, and personal safety, while older children and teens work on discipline, goal-setting, fitness, self-defense, and handling bullying and peer pressure. Adult classes emphasize practical techniques, fitness, confidence, and stress reduction. The center also promotes character development, respect, and moral integrity, encouraging students to apply a “Black Belt Mentality” in daily life. UMAC welcomes students with varied fitness levels and offers prospective participants a free tour and trial class at its Port Jefferson Station studio.
