The Umbrella Foundation is a nonprofit NGO and registered charity that has been devoted to protecting Nepal's vulnerable children for 15 years. Established in 2005, the foundation's mission is to alleviate the impact of trafficking, poverty, and war on children and their families in Nepal. They have rescued over 400 children from illegal 'orphanages' and worked with the Child Welfare Board to reintegrate many of them back with their families and rural communities.

The foundation provides these children with food, education, safe shelter, healthcare, and love. In March 2021, they will be winding down their operations in Nepal and transitioning operations to their long-time local partner, Umbrella Organisation Nepal. The foundation will continue to fund UON for the remainder of 2021 to ensure the financial security of the remaining Umbrella children and youths.
