Umeå Segelflygklubb is a gliding club based at Umeå Airport, where it operates two sailplanes equipped with motors. This setup allows the aircraft to reposition conveniently and share the airport with other traffic, while the club’s preferred way to fly is quietly, without engine power, when thermal conditions permit. The club welcomes people curious about gliding, offering trial lessons and gift certificates for introductory flights.

It also advertises a special flying offer for groups of young people up to age 25. For those who want to become pilots, the club provides both theoretical and practical flight training. Its activities extend beyond local flying: members can take part in advanced flying, including aerobatics, competitions, flying camps and excursions.
