About UMFM 101.5
UMFM is a brand that has been revitalizing the media scene in Winnipeg since 1997. Their mission is to provide a diverse range of music, talk shows, and specialty programming to the community. With a frequency of 101.5 FM, UMFM offers an alternative form of media, giving a platform to music and voices that may otherwise go unnoticed. Run primarily by volunteers, including students from the University of Manitoba and members of the Winnipeg community, UMFM broadcasts throughout Winnipeg and its surrounding areas.
Aside from their on-air presence, UMFM also offers a live stream online, allowing listeners to tune in from anywhere. They welcome feedback, comments, and inquiries and strive to provide prompt responses to ensure listeners have the information they need. Broadcasting at 1200 watts from the University of Manitoba, UMFM is proud to be situated on Treaty One territory, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Nehiyawak, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis nation.
