Umweltgutachten Nordwest

Umweltgutachten Nordwest is a zoological and ecological consultancy based in Delmenhorst, serving clients across northwestern Germany, including Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg. Founded and led by diplom-biologist Uwe Handke, the independent practice has provided faunal surveys and expert assessments since 2000. Its team combines extensive field experience with specialist knowledge of wildlife and habitats.

The office’s services include surveys of breeding and migratory birds, amphibians, reptiles, bats, dragonflies, butterflies, grasshoppers and wild bees. It also assesses how large birds use areas, checks buildings and trees for nesting birds and bats, and supports amphibian protection measures. Fish monitoring and relocation using electrofishing are available, alongside acoustic and net-based bat surveys and gondola monitoring with a Bat Mode System.

Environmental assessments are supported by a substantial body of project references, including studies for public authorities, planning consultancies and development projects. Past work has covered infrastructure, wind energy, habitat restoration and regional biodiversity monitoring. Umweltgutachten Nordwest provides field-based evidence to inform ecological assessment and planning.
