Umweltzentrum Uhlenkolk

Umweltzentrum Uhlenkolk is a certified education centre associated with the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park, welcoming visitors who are passionate about nature or curious to learn more. Certified as an education institution for sustainability since 2015, it offers nature education for children and adults, alongside training and professional development. Its programmes serve kindergartens, school groups, families, businesses and organisations, with activities ranging from educational outings and holiday care to team-building, conferences and symposia.

Visitors can explore the wildlife park, home to more than 30 native animal species, take part in nature experiences and seasonal events, or plan a nature-focused celebration in one of the available venues. The centre also works on biodiversity, environmental and species protection through projects and partnerships, and provides opportunities to contribute through volunteering, internships and a federal volunteer service placement. Umweltzentrum Uhlenkolk combines learning, recreation and practical engagement, encouraging people to experience nature firsthand and support its conservation. Its exhibition is currently closed during building renovation, and the playground’s tunnel slide is also temporarily unavailable.
