About UNARA
UNARA (Uganda National Roads Authority) is a government agency in Uganda responsible for the development, maintenance, and management of the country's road network. Established in 2008, UNARA aims to improve connectivity, facilitate trade, and enhance socio-economic development through the provision of safe and efficient road infrastructure. The headquarters of UNARA is located in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.
The offices are situated at Plot 5 Lourdel Road, Nakasero and provide a central hub for managing road projects and operations across the country. UNARA offers a range of services including road development and maintenance, road safety improvements, planning and monitoring, and capacity building. The agency manages and implements various road projects, from rehabilitating existing roads to constructing new ones.
UNARA also works on improving road signage, markings, and pedestrian facilities to enhance safety for road users. Furthermore, the agency conducts regular inspections and assessments of road conditions to ensure proper maintenance and repairs. In terms of global operations, UNARA primarily focuses on the road infrastructure development within Uganda.
However, the agency collaborates with international partners, donors, and organizations to mobilize funding and technical support for its projects. UNARA has successfully formed partnerships with entities such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, European Union, and several bilateral development agencies. As a government agency, UNARA does not have a market position in terms of global sales.
Instead, its focus is on delivering high-quality road infrastructure and improving connectivity within Uganda. UNARA does face competition from private contractors and engineering firms in securing road construction and maintenance contracts. There have been no noteworthy major events or changes in UNARA's brand strategy or product lineup to date.
As of the latest available information, UNARA remains actively involved in road development projects across Uganda. The agency continues to prioritize the improvement of road infrastructure to meet the growing demands of trade and transportation in the country
