Unbinding Lazarus

Unbinding Lazarus is a Christian resource focused on helping people affected by addiction find support and move toward recovery. Its name draws on the Gospel of John, where Jesus calls Lazarus out of the tomb and asks those nearby to unbind him. The organization uses this story to express its belief that people can be freed from the constraints of addiction and supported as they pursue a fuller life.

Unbinding Lazarus aims to educate Christians about addiction and recovery, while inspiring them to help those experiencing addiction. It also recognizes the impact on families and friends, and encourages churches to find practical ways to support both individuals and their loved ones. The site offers access to help and informational resources, and invites visitors to make contact for more information. Through these resources and its faith-centered mission, Unbinding Lazarus seeks to equip Christian communities to respond to addiction with understanding and active support.
