Unexpected Productions is a Seattle-based improv theater presenting live comedy and theatrical performances at 1428 Post Alley. Its shows are created in the moment, often drawing on audience suggestions to shape characters, stories, games, and scenes. The program ranges from playful comedy to genre-inspired productions, including an improvised zombie-apocalypse horror comedy, Poe Unexpected, Seattle Theatresports, the Rocky Horror Improv Show, Loose Cannons Improv, and a weekly Duo Comedy Showcase. This variety gives audiences opportunities to experience different styles of unscripted performance throughout the week.
Beyond its stage productions, Unexpected Productions offers improv education through classes in Seattle and Issaquah, specialty classes, and a Teen Improv Program. It also provides teambuilding services, extending improvisation beyond the theater. Visitors can find show listings and calendars, plan a visit, and learn about the company and its ensemble through the organization’s website. Unexpected Productions is supported by community donors and arts partners, including 4Culture, ArtsFund, and the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture.
