UNICEF Italia is one of 33 National Committees within UNICEF International. Since 1974, it has worked to protect and promote the rights of children and adolescents in Italy and around the world, guided by children’s rights and needs. Its work includes programmes for human development and sustainability, emergency assistance for children affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics, and initiatives focused on nutrition, child protection, migration and refugee support, and climate-related challenges. In Italy, UNICEF advocates for children’s rights and promotes child-friendly communities and services.

The organisation also shares field updates, personal stories, publications and information on children’s rights. People can support its work through regular or one-time donations, monthly giving, legacy gifts, gifts in memory, business partnerships, major donations and Italy’s 5x1000 tax allocation. Supporters can adopt a Pigotta, UNICEF’s handmade doll, or choose solidarity gifts and special celebration favours. UNICEF Italia also offers opportunities to volunteer through local initiatives, youth programmes such as YOUNICEF, civil service and other activities.
