Union Vovinam

Union Vovinam Viet Vo Dao France is the national organization dedicated to Vovinam Viet Vo Dao, a Vietnamese martial art. Guided by the motto “Be strong to be useful,” it brings together practitioners, instructors, masters and clubs across France, promoting a discipline rooted in self-improvement, respect, fraternity and the transmission of knowledge.

The Union supports martial arts practice through technical training, competitions and grade examinations. Its activities include organizing events, publishing competition rules and administrative documents, and sharing information about insurance, registrations and the annual calendar. The calendar highlights key events throughout the season, including workshops, competitions and grading sessions.

A major annual gathering is the Fête de la Fondation, featuring children’s and adults’ competitions, technical workshops, demonstrations and grade examinations. The event also provides opportunities for participants and families to meet and share in a welcoming, community-focused setting. In 2026, the 66th edition took place in Pessac in partnership with the Vietnamia cultural festival, bringing together martial arts and Vietnamese culture through performances, food, crafts and other activities.
