About Unison for Generations 50+
Unison is a remarkable not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals aged 50 and above. Rooted in the strong legacy of the Veiner Centre and the Kerby Centre, which will celebrate their 50th and 100th anniversaries in 2024 and 2023 respectively, Unison is committed to expanding its impact and reaching seniors who have previously been unable to access their services. Their vision is to foster a community of actively engaged older adults, while their mission centers around supporting older individuals to live well within their communities.
Unison upholds the values of empowerment, inclusivity, compassion, aging as a journey of discovery, respect, and collaboration. The Kerby Centre, founded by Patricia Allen in 1973, has been a haven for seniors for nearly half a century, offering educational programs, exercise opportunities, social connections, and important resources. Similarly, the Veiner Centre, emerging from Mayor Harry Veiner's vision, has served as a vital seniors' recreation facility for over 45 years.
With their rich history, Unison continues to strive towards empowering older adults and enhancing their quality of life
