About Unitaid
Unitaid is an international organization dedicated to investing in innovative ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. As a global health agency, Unitaid works to bridge the gap between the development of life-saving health products and their widespread adoption. They provide short-term financial grants to health partners, enabling maximum impact in the fight against diseases.
Thanks to Unitaid's funding, groundbreaking medicines and tools have been introduced, such as HIV antiretroviral drugs used in Africa, new pediatric medicine formulations, specialist medication for malaria, and improved treatments for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. Unitaid is also committed to addressing challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic and is actively involved in accelerating solutions. By 2028, their work has the potential to save 1.
2 million lives and generate significant cost savings. Through partnerships and innovative financing, Unitaid amplifies the impact of health innovations and makes them widely available. Funding for Unitaid mainly comes from contributions by donors, with France, the United Kingdom, and Norway being key supporters.
Overall, Unitaid's mission is to ensure a healthier and more equitable future for all
