University of Bristol Rugby

The University of Bristol Rugby Football Club (UBRFC) is a student sports club offering competitive rugby through its men’s and women’s teams. Partnered with the Rugby Football Union and competing in BUCS, the club fields 10 teams and provides rugby opportunities for more than 400 students each year. Its programme welcomes players with different levels of ability, balancing performance and development with the social side of the sport.

UBRFC aims to help students succeed both on and off the field, build connections with its estimated 30,000 alumni, and create memorable university experiences. Activities include international tours, club dinners, prestigious fixtures and alumni mentoring. The club also supports engagement with the local community. Since 2024, it has partnered officially with professional team Bristol Bears, and some students have gone on to represent the Bears.

The club’s website provides information about joining, teams, fixtures and results, scholarships, news and alumni connections. Based at the University of Bristol’s Coombe Dingle Sports Complex, UBRFC presents itself as a welcoming option for students interested in rugby and club life.
