Universo Cantigas is a digital scholarly project dedicated to the critical edition and study of medieval secular Galician-Portuguese poetry. Developed at the University of A Coruña, it builds on the Glossary of Medieval Secular Galician-Portuguese Poetry, produced from 2010 to 2015 and now incorporated into the project. Its work makes edited texts and research resources available to the public through an online platform.

The project organizes material from key manuscript collections, including the Cancioneiro da Ajuda, the Cancioneiro da Biblioteca Nacional, the Cancioneiro da Vaticana, and the Pergamiño Vindel. Visitors can explore critical texts, song and author indexes, genre listings, a glossary, editorial principles, methodology, bibliography, and resources for research. The project’s editing is being completed in phases: earlier work covered love songs and most friend songs, while the current phase focuses on satirical and insult poetry. This final section is scheduled for 2023–2026. Universo Cantigas also provides guidance on citing the project and its editions, supporting students, researchers, and readers interested in this literary tradition.
