UNOC

Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. It manages the government’s commercial interests in the petroleum sector and works to ensure the country’s petroleum resources are developed sustainably. Under Uganda’s Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013, UNOC manages State participation in petroleum activities and investigates and proposes new ventures across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.

Its portfolio includes exploration and new ventures, the Kingfisher and Tilenga projects, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline, and the Uganda Refinery Project. UNOC also works with partners to advance petroleum-related activities and capabilities. Recent initiatives include an agreement with VIVO Energy Uganda concerning liquefied petroleum gas and a memorandum of understanding with Baker Hughes EHO Ltd to build technical capabilities and operationalize UNOC’s Center of Excellence.
