About UNCPS-Bénin
The Union Nationale des Producteurs de Soja (UNPS) du Benin is the national umbrella organization for a vast network of cooperatives and producer groups involved in soybean production in Benin. With a decentralized national coverage, UNPS-Benin operates in all agro-ecological zones suitable for soybean cultivation in the country. Currently, they are active in seven departments across thirty-two communes.
UNPS-Benin has a membership of 23,730 individual producers, including 9,492 women and 4,746 young producers, organized into 240 cooperatives and 168 producer groups. This strong network of village-level cooperatives, communal unions, and departmental unions forms the backbone of UNPS. Established in January 2010, UNPS was officially registered in May 2011 and recognized as a leading professional organization in the soybean industry.
Their vision is to become the leading professional organization in the soybean sector in Benin and the sub-region by 2030, promoting good governance and equity for the well-being of producers. UNPS offers various services to its members, including capacity building, access to sustainable production factors, market development opportunities, and national and international advocacy.
