Fondation Un souffle et des ailes is a community-focused nonprofit foundation in Roxton Pond, Quebec, dedicated to improving the well-being of young adults with multiple disabilities. Its mission is to raise funds for a permanent, adapted eight-place residence serving young people who need ongoing support and are not independent. The foundation’s home provides an animated living environment and a transitional option between living with family and placement in a seniors’ residence. After years of effort, the residence welcomed its first residents in 2021.
The foundation invites individuals and organizations to support its work through donations and community involvement. Its fundraising initiatives include annual benefit shows, events, a can-collection project and partnership projects. The website also encourages visitors to explore its shop and follow news about residents, activities and the organization’s progress. By bringing local people together around a practical housing need, Fondation Un souffle et des ailes works to create a more suitable and supportive place to live for young adults with complex disabilities.
