Unstead Wetland Nature Reserve is a volunteer-managed conservation site near Godalming in Surrey, along the River Wey. Run by the Unstead Nature Community Group, a registered charity, the reserve is being restored with the ambition of becoming the best small wetland reserve in Surrey. Visitors can explore the site, watch wildlife from its viewing platform and discover species recorded in the reserve’s regular sightings and surveys. These include birds, moths, butterflies, wildflowers, reptiles, mammals, fungi and water-quality observations.

The group offers opportunities to support its work through donations, membership and practical volunteering. Regular conservation tasks currently take place on Thursdays, and the reserve welcomes interest from schools, youth groups and corporate teams for organised volunteer days. Group visits should be booked in advance. Members can receive a monthly newsletter and updates about activities, surveys and recent wildlife sightings. The reserve also hosts events, including National Meadows Day, and shares news and observations through its website and Facebook page.
