Unterwasserparcours

Unterwasserparcours Salzgittersee e. V. is a diving organization behind an underwater navigation course in Salzgittersee, Germany. Founded in February 2023, the association developed the course to help divers learn and practise compass navigation while discovering the lake beneath the surface. The publicly accessible course is free to use and has approval from the City of Salzgitter and the responsible water authority; use is at the visitor’s own risk.

Divers navigate between submerged objects, each marked with a board showing compass bearings and distances to the other points. The objects offer a range of destinations, and the course is intended to grow over time. It also provides a practical setting for dive schools and instructors to teach navigation specialties. The site shares information about the course, access and directions, along with maps, photos, downloadable materials and updates. The organization also highlights lake-cleanup activities, including efforts to remove rubbish from the water, and offers information about its team, membership and ways to support its work.
