Founded in 2003, University of Wasit is a prominent educational institution located in Wasit province, Iraq. It has been the long-awaited dream of the province's intellectuals, scholars, and students. As a source of knowledge, University of Wasit aims to spread the light of education, science, and culture in the region.

With 15 faculties, including Arts, Administration & Economics, Science, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, and more, along with 4 scientific centers and a central library, University of Wasit continues to expand horizontally and vertically. It has obtained approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish new academic departments and postgraduate studies that meet the current market demands.
