Upės festivalis is a summer celebration in Vilnius that invites residents and visitors to rediscover the Neris River and experience the city from its waterfront. Taking place on July 25, on St Christopher’s Day, the festival stretches along the riverbanks from Vingis Park Bridge to Žirmūnai Bridge, with activities at several locations. Its programme brings together culture, active leisure and community experiences for a broad audience, including families.

Visitors can take part in sports and fitness sessions, beach volleyball, football activities, scooter competitions, chess and basketball challenges, and a group kayak and paddleboard outing. Red Bull Tandemynės adds a high-energy racing event, while the music programme features Lithuanian performers, an orchestra, jazz and electronic music, alongside blues dancing by the river. The festival also offers film screenings, creative workshops, literary walks, book presentations and poetry events. Family activities include games, educational experiences and opportunities to explore a mobile library.
