UPR Info

UPR Info is an international non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, founded in 2008. With Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, UPR Info is dedicated to enhancing the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process, which assesses the human rights records of all UN Member States. The organization began by supporting Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and has evolved its role by establishing a significant advocacy platform known as the Pre-sessions, which amplifies CSO voices during UPR dialogues.

Recognized for its impactful work in human rights advocacy, UPR Info was awarded the Democracy and Human Rights Prize in 2019. The organization promotes multilingual access to its resources, offering training and information in French, English, and Spanish. UPR Info's vision emphasizes inclusivity, aiming to engage all segments of society, especially marginalized groups. They focus on facilitating the implementation of UPR recommendations and fostering partnerships that encourage broader participation from local governments and communities in the pursuit of universal human rights.
