The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is the largest and most competitive pro-development league in North America. Founded in 2011 by Leonel Lopez in Santa Ana, California, the league has grown from 10 teams to nearly 400 clubs nationwide. The UPSL occupies the 4th tier of the US Soccer pyramid and serves as a crucial bridge between the youth game and the professional game.

With an average participant age of 22. 5 years, the UPSL provides structure and opportunities for thousands of aspiring players and coaches. The league operates year-round, with two seasons every calendar year.

The Spring season runs from March to August, culminating in national playoffs. The Fall season begins in September and concludes with national playoffs in February. The UPSL prides itself on openness, inclusion, and accessibility, with players from 90 different nations and over 50% of players and coaches of Hispanic descent.

UPSL clubs are eligible to compete in the U. S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds, highlighting the league's affiliation with the U.

In 2021, the UPSL announced its joint-ventured partnership with UPSL MX, the launch of the UPSL Women's division, and its direct membership with the US Soccer Federation as a National Affiliate.
