Upstate Kayak Rentals helps residents and visitors explore waterways in the Capital District through kayak rentals, excursions, and group events. The company operates 15 locations, including staffed walk-up sites at Mohawk Harbor and Waterford Boat Launch, as well as 13 self-serve rental kiosks for flexible access. Customers can book kayaks for independent outings or join paddle and pedal excursions and self-guided tours of the historic Waterford Flight of Locks. The business also hosts corporate retreats and private parties on the water, with planning available by phone, text, or email.

For a more relaxed outing, Upstate Kayak Rentals partners with Upstate Pontoon Charters. Guests can join Captain Donna for a two-hour scenic cruise along the Erie Canal and Mohawk River, departing from the Halfmoon Crescent Kayak Launch. Charters accommodate up to six people and travel beneath the Twin Bridges and around an island. Together, these services offer several ways to experience the region’s waterways, whether visitors prefer paddling, pedaling, or cruising by pontoon boat.
