URCLUED

Unterwasser-Rugby-Club Lüdenscheid e.V. is a sports club dedicated to underwater rugby, welcoming people interested in trying a distinctive team sport. Founded in 1981, the club invites newcomers to get in touch or visit a training session. Members meet every Thursday at 8:45 p.m. at Familienbad Nattenberg in Lüdenscheid.

Underwater rugby is played in a deep swimming or diving pool, where teams try to move a ball filled with seawater into the opposing team’s metal goal basket on the pool floor. Each team has six players, and a match lasts two periods of 15 minutes. Players need fins, a diving mask, a snorkel, and either a white or blue swimsuit and cap. The club also shares an overview of the game’s rules, which prohibit actions such as attacking anyone other than the player carrying the ball or interfering with another player’s equipment.

URC Lüdenscheid provides information for prospective participants and shares updates through social media. The club’s website also includes contact details and practical guidance about equipment and gameplay.
