About Ursuline Sisters Mission | Canfield OH
The Ursuline Sisters HIV/AIDS Ministry is a program of Ursuline Sisters Mission, founded in 1993 by Sisters Kathleen Minchin, Mary Lee Nalley, Nancy Dawson, and Pauline Dalpé. It began as a prayer support group for people living with HIV/AIDS and for their families, friends, and others grieving loved ones, responding to a lack of local resources. Today, the ministry combines practical assistance, social connection, and health services.
Angela’s Place provides household items and personal hygiene products, while a food pantry is supplied through Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and donations from church and civic groups. The ministry also hosts a monthly social gathering with a communal meal for people in the HIV community and their guests. Its HIV clinic offers testing, health care, counseling, case management, education, and wrap-around services.
Peer-led support groups provide emotional and educational support for people living with HIV/AIDS. Through these services, the ministry supports individuals and families with care, resources, and opportunities for connection
