**USArray: A Continental-Scale Seismic Observatory**
USArray, a vital component of the NSF-funded EarthScope project, operated from its inception until September 2021. With its observational period now concluded, the USArray's extensive network of seismic stations continues to serve scientific research through partnerships with various operators. The data gathered plays a critical role in advancing our understanding of geological processes, including earthquakes, volcanoes, and landslides, by mapping the Earth's complex internal structures.
During its operation, USArray facilitated a rich array of geophysical studies using four key observatories: the Transportable Array, Flexible Array, Reference Network, and Magnetotelluric Array. This infrastructure allows seismologists to analyze seismic waves and their propagation, linking surface features to deeper geological processes. As the geophysical community evolves, UNAVCO and IRIS are merging into the EarthScope Consortium to further enhance research and educational support. For continued advancements in geophysics, the legacy of USArray will now be archived at earthscope.org, providing access to invaluable research and publications from this groundbreaking initiative.
