About USC Rocket Propulsion Lab
USCRPL, or USC Rocket Propulsion Lab (RPL), is an undergraduate rocketry group focused on experimental rocket technologies. The organization brings together student leaders to design, develop, and launch ambitious rocket projects, while sharing updates through its website and social media. Its work spans development vehicles and space-bound launches, supported by a history of projects including Traveler, Fathom, Aftershock, Malibu, and Daybreak.
RPL highlights several achievements in undergraduate rocketry: its Traveler IV team was the first undergraduate team to reach space, and the group reports the highest altitude achieved at 470,400 feet, the fastest velocity at 5,283 feet per second, and the most powerful solid motor fired at 51,529 pound-force seconds. Current featured projects include Daybreak, which completed a successful spaceshot in 2026, Aftershock II, successful in 2024, and Malibu, a six-inch development vehicle. The site also introduces the team, explains its history and mission, lists past projects and sponsors, and invites visitors to learn more or join the organization.
