USE-SOWAS

USE-SOWAS e.V. is a Berlin-based social-pedagogical sports association founded in 1996 to support the integration of people with disabilities through sport and leisure. Its activities are open to people with and without disabilities, with particular attention to people living with mental illness. The association offers a broad programme designed around participation, shared enjoyment and staying active rather than competition or athletic performance. Activities include gymnastics, strength training, football, table tennis and running, as well as water sports such as rowing, sailing and paddling.

Members also take part in external sporting events and competitions. The running group attends Berlin events, including the Köpenicker Altstadtlauf, BIG 25 and the Team Staffellauf, while other groups participate in Special Olympics and the Scandic ID football league. News from the association highlights running camps, water-walking trips and inclusive sporting events. USE-SOWAS also welcomes volunteers and provides guidance on ways to support its charitable work and accompany its sports programmes. Through these opportunities, the association brings people together in an accessible, supportive sporting community.
