About Universal Service Fund
The Universal Service Fund (USF) is an agency under the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications, and Transport in Jamaica. Their mission is to positively impact Jamaica's socio-economic development by enabling a knowledge-based society through universal access to the Internet and digital inclusion. The USF ensures access to information and communication technology tools to facilitate development in the country.
Established in 2005 as the Universal Access Fund Company Limited, the USF utilizes funds collected from a universal service levy on inbound telephone calls by domestic telecommunications providers. These funds are used to execute various national ICT projects aimed at transforming Jamaica into a knowledge-based society. The USF values teamwork, accountability, respect, integrity, and kindness.
By providing universal access to the Internet and fostering digital inclusion, the USF envisions fueling rapid socio-economic growth and development for Jamaica. Contact the USF at 4th Floor PCJ Resource Centre, 36 Trafalgar Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica. Tel: 876 926-4USF / 876 926-1727.
