USJGMA

U.S. Jow Ga Martial Arts (USJGMA) is a community-focused martial arts school in Columbia, Maryland, opened in 2015 under the direction of Sifu Alex Lim. Guided by the motto “Changing Lives Through Martial Arts,” the school welcomes people beginning their training as well as those returning after a long break. Its family-friendly environment is supported by volunteer coaches and staff, and the organization operates as an all-volunteer, nonprofit school, using tuition and donations to maintain its training space and resources.

USJGMA teaches Jow Ga Kung Fu, a style that combines techniques that students can practice in different sequences and formats. Programs include classes for children and adults, as well as virtual classes. The school also offers Yang-style Tai Chi, practiced for its health benefits and for developing coordination and breathing control. Beyond instruction, USJGMA performs traditional Jow Ga Lion Dance for businesses and groups at celebrations and cultural or historical events.
