University System of Maryland

The University System of Maryland Foundation (USM Foundation) supports public higher education in Maryland through philanthropy, asset management, and stewardship. It serves institutions across the University System of Maryland, regional higher education centers, and six community colleges. Its vision is to foster a long-term, sustainable culture of philanthropy throughout the system and to provide trusted advice, effective partnerships, and innovative solutions that encourage increased private support.

The Foundation offers grants and gift administration, payroll services, investment management, and fund accounting. It also maintains alumni and development records used by nine USM institutions, provides campaign and strategic fundraising leadership, and supports professional development. Donors can contribute to the institution of their choice through options including credit card gifts, planned gifts, and gifts of stock.

The organization shares information through its annual reports, corporate documents, policies, forms, and financial statements. It also provides resources on sustainable investing inquiries and processes. Based in Adelphi, Maryland, the Foundation works with board members, community partners, donors, and the institutions it serves to advance higher education across the state.
