About USS Liberty Veterans Association
The USS Liberty Veterans Association (LVA) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting survivors of the 1967 attack on the USS Liberty. Formed on June 8, 1982, the LVA aims to provide honor, compassion, and advocacy for those affected by this historic event. The association is unique in that only veterans who survived the attack can vote on organizational matters, ensuring that the voices of those most impacted are prioritized.
Beyond support for its members, the LVA is committed to raising awareness and promoting the truth about the attack, which remains the only incident involving a US Navy ship since World War II that has not undergone a comprehensive public investigation. The organization offers various resources for members and the public, including newsletters, blogs, and educational materials. Through its advocacy, the USS Liberty Veterans Association seeks to ensure that the legacy of the USS Liberty is remembered and that justice prevails for its survivors.
