Vaasan Hiihtäjät

Vaasan Hiihtäjät is a Finnish skiing and youth sports club that has promoted skiing and physical activity since 1941. Based in Vaasa, the club offers coached training for children and young people, welcoming participants with different experience levels. Its junior sessions develop coordination, speed, body control, endurance, mobility and skiing technique through varied exercises, games and outdoor activities. Older junior skiers can join year-round endurance, technique and speed training organised with nearby ski clubs. The club also provides a ski school and seasonal training, with opportunities for newcomers to try selected sessions before committing.

Beyond its local training activities, Vaasan Hiihtäjät maintains Syötemaja, a renovated accommodation property near the Iso-Syöte fell area. The location gives visitors access to nature, national park trails and year-round recreational opportunities. Club members and supporters also contribute to maintaining ski trails at Metsäkallio through volunteer work. Membership fees help fund the club’s activities, and individuals and businesses can provide additional support for accessible, guided sports opportunities for young people.
