About Vadhvan Port Project Ltd.
Vadhvan Port Project Limited is spearheading the development of Vadhvan Port, a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing maritime infrastructure along India's western coastline. Strategically positioned near Dahanu in Maharashtra, Vadhvan Port is set to be the region’s third major port, complementing Mumbai Port and Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPA). The project is a collaborative effort between JNPA and the Maharashtra Maritime Board, with an investment of Rs 65,544 crore under the Government of India’s Sagarmala Programme.
Designed with a deep draft of 18 meters, Vadhvan Port will facilitate the handling of diverse cargo types and aims to become a pivotal hub for international trade, benefiting Maharashtra, Gujarat, and several northern states. The port will feature a comprehensive infrastructure including breakwaters, rail lines, and road connectivity, ensuring efficient transport logistics. Committed to socio-economic development, JNPA also prioritizes local community engagement through skill development and educational initiatives, supporting sustainable growth in the region.
