About VAEA
VAEA, the Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts, was established on June 13, 1990, to celebrate the legacy of Jose Antonio Paez and to foster a deep cultural understanding between Venezuela and the United States. Operating as a New York-based public charity, VAEA promotes a diverse array of cultural programs that include exhibitions, performances, and collaborative educational activities. The organization recently inaugurated the VAEA New Rochelle Art Center, a 12,000-square-foot cultural hub designed to facilitate dynamic artistic exchange.
VAEA’s mission encompasses funding and supporting visual and performing arts, while providing grants and cultural exchange opportunities, particularly for young people. The organization emphasizes the importance of education, cultural diversity, and creative expression, bridging the storied traditions of both countries. With a committed board comprising influential figures, including artists and philanthropists, VAEA remains dedicated to enriching the cultural dialogue and strengthening relationships between the American and Venezuelan communities through art and education
