Vai Groundwater Solutions

VAI Groundwater Solutions is a Chile-based consultancy founded in 2012, focused on helping clients address water-related challenges, particularly in the mining industry. The company provides integrated consulting on surface water and groundwater, with an emphasis on understanding client needs and developing tailored, practical solutions. Its services include hydrogeology, numerical modelling, mine drainage, environmental consulting, geochemistry, and tailings and waste-dump management. VAI’s work supports the assessment, management, and responsible use of water resources through technical expertise and a commitment to innovation, transparency, and environmental stewardship.

The company’s project experience includes hydrogeological advice for lithium extraction, including conceptual and numerical aquifer modelling; exploration, pore-pressure modelling, drainage, and depressurisation work at the Centinela and Los Pelambres mines; and three-dimensional groundwater-flow models for CODELCO tailings facilities. VAI has also supported El Abra with water-resource management strategies, environmental monitoring, and updates to hydrogeological models. Through its consulting services, VAI aims to help industry, communities, and the environment benefit from sustainable and responsible water management.
