About Valuation Tribunal Service
The Valuation Tribunal Service (VTS) is a statutory and independent organization that delivers a range of services to the Valuation Tribunal for England (VTE). Working together, we aim to provide the fairest, most effective, and efficient service to those who appeal their council tax or business rates. The VTS provides administrative support to the VTE, which is the legal body that hears and determines appeals made by ratepayers and council tax payers.
Our role is to ensure that people and businesses who challenge decisions taken by the local council or the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) on their council tax or business rates are given a fair hearing. We are not connected to any council or the VOA, maintaining our independence in the decision-making process. Our dedicated board, management, and team work tirelessly to uphold our mission of delivering a transparent and accountable service
