Vano Fine Art Appraisal

Vano Fine Art Appraisal Services provides independent appraisal and collection support for owners of fine art. The business prepares replacement value appraisals for insurance coverage and fair market value appraisals for estate tax, estate planning, equitable distribution, charitable contributions, and anticipated sale or donation. Reports may include examination and photographs of artworks, descriptions following the Getty Descriptive Standard, research into artists and current markets, and a documented value conclusion prepared in accordance with USPAP. Clients receive hard-copy and electronic versions. Restricted reports are limited to the intended client and are not suitable for insurance, tax, charitable contribution, or distribution purposes.

Additional services include provenance research to investigate an artwork’s ownership history, collection management, cataloging, conservation and restoration coordination, framing and maintenance, and auction representation for buying or selling. Vano also offers authentication research to help assess an object’s identity and authenticity, while clarifying that it does not issue Certificates of Authenticity. Fees are billed hourly, daily, or at a flat rate, depending on the project, with payment due before delivery.
