Pohjois-Karjalan Vapaa-ajankalastajapiiri ry is a regional association representing recreational anglers and fishing clubs across Finland’s North Karelia region. Based in Joensuu, it serves as a link between local member associations and the Finnish Federation for Recreational Fishing. Its work promotes recreational fishing, responsible fisheries management, fishing culture and the interests of anglers throughout the region.

The association supports and advises its member clubs, encourages better fishing opportunities and sustainable care of fishing waters, and works with fisheries authorities. It also promotes conservation, environmental protection and the recreational use of nature connected with waterways. To introduce fishing to people of different ages, the association organizes competitions and other events, shares information and publishes materials related to the hobby. Its website provides updates, competition rules, results and a photo gallery, alongside information about the board and affiliated clubs. Those clubs represent communities throughout North Karelia and help bring local anglers together. The association can also arrange fishing and outdoor activities, and make equipment, waters and facilities available to members where appropriate.
