Varkenshotel is a modern pig-farming business operated by Varkenshotel V.O.F. / B.V. Vogels in Erp, Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands. The company focuses on animal welfare, practical innovation and sustainability, with the aim of producing healthy, tasty pork with a lower carbon footprint. Its facilities include a covered, straw-bedded lounge where sows can rest after raising their piglets, alongside climate-control systems designed to improve conditions in the barns. Sensors continuously monitor factors such as temperature, humidity, air movement, light, carbon dioxide and ammonia, helping the team respond proactively.

Varkenshotel also uses water misting and roof whitening to reduce heat, and probiotic spraying to bind dust and ammonia. Its 1,040 solar panels generate 319,200 Wp of renewable power; the business reports meeting 60% of its energy needs and returning surplus electricity to the grid. Through a public Twitch livestream, visitors can observe the animals and trigger a piglet treat dispenser. The company also shares news and articles, offers employment and agricultural training placements, and welcomes business enquiries.
