About Vask
Vask is a real-time WebSocket service built on Cloudflare’s global edge network. Designed as a Pusher-compatible alternative, it lets teams add live features while continuing to use their existing Pusher SDKs, channels, presence, and authentication callbacks. Migration involves updating a few environment settings rather than rewriting application code.
Vask’s central distinction is its billing model: customers pay for messages published, not for each subscriber who receives them. This removes fan-out fees and can make costs more predictable as audiences grow. The service offers a free tier with 500,000 broadcasts per month and 100 concurrent connections, plus paid plans for larger workloads. Plans include unlimited apps, client events, and email support, with priority email support on higher tiers. Vask says it does not throttle or drop messages when usage exceeds plan limits, instead contacting customers to discuss options.
The platform also provides a WebSocket testing tool, documentation, pricing comparisons, migration guides, and status information. Vask reports sub-50-millisecond p99 latency within a region and direct founder-engineer support.
