Väyläfestival is a multifaceted arts festival rooted in the Torne River Valley, a region extending across Finland, Norway, and Sweden. It brings Nordic artists and audiences together for a cultural gathering in the heart of Lapland, combining artistic experiences with the area’s distinctive natural surroundings. The festival’s tenth edition takes place from June 28 to July 9, 2026, across locations including Tornio, Kukkola, Ylitornio, Övertorneå, Särkilax, Pajala, Jukkasjärvi, Muonio, Kätkäsuvanto, and Kilpisjärvi.
Its program offers encounters with music, poetry, and speakers, alongside workshops for children and opportunities to experience the region’s nature. Presenting events throughout the valley, Väyläfestival offers a cultural adventure shaped by the communities and landscapes of the Nordic border region. The festival is made possible through support from foundations, local companies, and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, as well as collaboration with local municipalities, communities, and congregations.
Its program and partnerships connect artistic activity with local life across the Torne River Valley
