About VEF
Veterinary Faculty of the University of Zagreb offers an integrated under-graduate and graduate course in Veterinary Medicine spanning 6 years. Students acquire the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine upon completion. The curriculum includes theoretical and practical classes in various subjects, such as social, basic, and clinical sciences, with elective options for specialization in Farm Animals, Horses, Hygiene, and Technology of Animal Foodstuffs.
Practical training in veterinary organizations, farms, and the food industry complements classroom learning. Graduates are equipped to treat animals, address veterinary public health concerns, conduct diagnostics, prevent infectious diseases, and promote ethical animal care. The program also prepares students for further specialization through post-graduate studies or lifelong learning opportunities.
