The Vegetarian Butcher is a plant-based food brand on a mission to remove animals from the food chain and make meat alternatives appealing to meat lovers. Founded by Jaap, who loved meat and set out to recreate its familiar taste in vegetarian form, the brand aims to preserve the flavors and traditions of classic meat dishes while offering a plant-based choice.
Its products are made directly from ingredients such as beans and grains, using plant proteins, fats, water, natural flavors and colors, and other ingredients to create varied textures and tastes. The range includes burgers, mince, chicken-style pieces, sausages, schnitzels and other meat-inspired options, including vegan products such as schnitzels, bratwurst and cordon bleu. The brand also shares recipes to help customers use its products in everyday meals.
The Vegetarian Butcher presents plant-based eating as a way to enjoy familiar dishes while contributing to positive outcomes for animals, the environment and food supply. Its website also provides information about the brand’s mission, ingredients, responsibility, news and product availability.
